Vistas

I grew up living in the gatehouse to a farm in rural Bedfordshire and it's hills, fields and woodlands were my playground. I have also lived near the Derbyshire Peak District, the North York Moors and the Mendip Hills in Somerset. Whilst I now live in a city I have a deep love for the countryside and feel very at home there. My hope with these pieces is to take the viewer on a little journey, to somewhere they remember or perhaps somewhere they would love to go. 

This series of work started with a wood block, which became 'The  Hill' but then progressed onto using my collection of driftwood and other found pieces from woodland walks. I have also started making vistas with other objects, such as cotton reels and corks; I suspect stranger objects will also start to creep in.
